The images in this newly printed zine were photographed in the Kvaerner Govan Ltd. shipyard, in Govan, Glasgow, at the launches of the Tai He container ship (1989), the Havis tanker ship (1992), the Jo Selje chemical tanker (1993), and the Sea Launch Commander (1996).
It really is exciting to see ships be launched, a mix of awe at their size, their speed when they start moving, happiness and celebration, but also for some reason a melancholy air about the day.
Many of the images have never before been printed nor published.
