Shipbuilding on the River Clyde

These images were photographed within three yards on the River Clyde.
Inside the Ferguson Shipbuilders Ltd. yard in May 1996, at the launch of the Stirling Clyde offshore supply vessel.
The launch of HMS Portland, a naval frigate, at the Marconi Marine shipyard in Scotstoun, May 1999.
The launch of the naval auxiliary ship Wave Ruler, in February 2001, at the BAE Systems Marine (YSL) Ltd. shipyard in Govan.
As with Clydebuilt I and Clydebuilt III, many of the images in this zine have never before been printed nor published. The photographs of the launch of Wave Ruler were only discovered in my archive recently, having been forgotten about since the day they were shot back in 2001. It was great to rediscover the 5 rolls of 35mm film, all shot on my Leica cameras. Like finding a little bit of treasure.
