Clydebuilt, the launch of the Jo Selje
I was delighted last week to be invited by Brian Carroll at Ffoton Wales, an organisation which promotes photography in and off Wales, to take part in their One Image slot, where a photographer talks for 3-minutes about one single image.
Brian very kindly asked me to talk about the image, of the imminent launch of the Jo Selje chemical tanker ship, from the front of my recent Clydebuilt I zine. This image, from 1993, is very dear to me, so it was easy to fill 3-minutes.
Have a listen below to the background story of the image, and if it interests you the image is available in Clydebuilt I zine, and also as an archival museum quality photographic print (of Jo Selje). Many thanks to those who have already bought one or the other!
And do sign up for Ffoton Wales newsletters and on their social media, keep abreast of photography from our Celtic cousins in Wales. They have a lot of good things going on. I’ll be doing another couple of collaborations with Brian soon, and I’ll post about them here immminently.
